3 Natural Products That Help Get Rid Of Dark Circles

Updated: Nov 14, 2021

Product Recommendations: The best natural products that tackle dark under-eyes.

Having trouble finding the right natural eye product for dark circles? Here's a quick guide to my top 3 products that may help lighten dark bags.

After a tough night of sleep, there’s something that’s even tougher you may have to deal with: finding the right eye product to battle dark circles. Whether the dark circles are genetic, a result of lack of sleep, or for other reasons, no matter how bad it is, with the right products you’ll be ready to keep dark circles at bay.

Without any further ado, lets begin with the question of the hour.

What causes dark circles?

Though there are many factors that may cause dark circles under your eyes, lack of sleep is mostly the root of the problem. When you sleep less hours than your body requires, you might just wake up with puffy eyes, which cast shadows on your undereyes, causing them to appear darker than usual.

Another reason we get dark circles is because of the elasticity of the skin in that specific area. As the skin in our undereyes is much thinner than skin elsewhere, the blood vessels are closer to the surface, which causes the eye region to appear more pigmented than the rest of the face.

As the skin under our eyes is much thinner and therefore more sensitive than other areas, it must be treated gently and with extreme care. In fact, constantly touching or rubbing the eyes (because of fatigue) may DARKEN your bags further, so make sure to avoid this at all cost!

(Stubborn dark circles that appear suddenly may be a sign of a skin condition, so if you experience this, make sure to cosult your dermatologist.)

Now that you know what causes dark circles (and how to avoid worsening them) lets take a look at my top pick of (natural) eye products that may help.

As you may (or may not) have heard, vitamin C is an absolute must-have when it comes to dealing with pigmented skin. Vitamin C is known for its collagen-producing properties which help strengthen the skin and lighten dark circles as well as blemishes.

The Eclat Vitamin C Serum is a must have, as it is completely natural, (obviously) and at the most affordable price for a vitamin C serum. Plus, it smells like fresh oranges and leaves a dewy glow after use.

This product is definitely worth trying, you just c

ant go wrong with it.

Snail. Need I say more? Okay fine, I will elaborate. Snail products have been gaining quite a lot of popularity in the past couple of years, and all for good reason. Snail slime naturally contains high levels of anti-oxidants, which, according to Healthline, "help promote healthy collagen production". In fact, according to Womens Health Magazine, snail slime not only hydrates the skin, but also "brightens hyperpigmentation", so its exactly what you're looking for in an eye cream.

Though this might come to you as a surprise, pomegrante is not just a delicious fruit we enjoy in the summer. Pomegranate seed oil has incredible hydrating properties, and helps collagen production. The vitamin K found in this oil visibly helps reduce dark under eyes, and simultaneously reduces wrinkles and fine lines. Now isn't that the cherry on the cake?

Whether you decide to try to fix your dark circles, or just give up, just know that pigmentation around the eyes is very normal, and does not look "bad" at all. Just make sure you're getting enough sleep, and all the nutrients your body requires. Plus, a little eye serum wont hurt! Either way, you're still gorgeous. ;)
